The firm was established 2006 by Heidi Channing with a small number of clients and has grown from strength to strength, mainly through word of mouth.  In 2013 Heidi was joined by Lindsey Wright who brings her wealth of general practice experience and expertise dealing with businesses of all sizes.  We are a down to earth firm with motivated staff who believe that the key to providing a quality service comes from a desire to truly respond to individual needs we With almost 70 years of experience with in the team we pride ourselves on being able to offer you a service that will take the stress out of your accounting needs whilst keeping it affordable.

Lindsey Wright FAAT FCA

Director

I joined Blue Lias in 2013 from managing another large regional firm and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010. I have been in practice now for over 19 years, as a partner I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the years since.

I look after a large portfolio of clients, primarily working with local owner-managed businesses to whom she provides expert accounting, tax and business advice.

I work with clients in a wide range of sectors including retail, hospitality, construction and engineering.

Heidi Channing FMAAT, FFA,FTA

Client Manager

Heidi established Accounting Angels in 2006 to provide a unique service offering a simple, friendly and transparent service to the clients. Heidi has over 20 years’ experience in the accounting profession. She became a member of AAT in 2002 and is a fellow member of the association.

Heidi provides invaluable support to our clients. She specialises in dealing with limited companies, partnerships and sole trade as well as personal tax for individuals.

In addition to this, she also has her own portfolio of clients within the company.

Rachel Moores CIPP

Payroll & Tax Manager

Rachel joined Blue Lias in December 2016 and is an associated member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. Rachel has the key skills necessary to understand our payroll customers and clients. She also manages a portfolio of investment tax returns.

Rachel takes pride in providing a quality service to clients and is passionate about the importance of the payroll function within every industry. Clients have peace of mind that their payroll compliance deadlines are met.

Louise Turner MAAT ACCA

Client Manager

Louise joined Blue Lias in September 2016 as an apprentice trainee accountant. She is now a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and fully qualified as a Certified Accountant, ACCA early in 2023. 

Louise has her own protfolio of clients providing accountancy services, focusing on accounts preparation and compliance, bookkeeping solutions, corporate tax planning, VAT returns and personal tax work. She supports clients with their Cloud Accounting software such as Xero.

She has extensive experience in Payroll and provides supports to the Payroll Manager.

Debbie Shields FAAT

Client Manager

Debbie joined Blue Lias in 2018 as a Senior Accountant. Debbie has more than of 25 years’ of extensive experience in this role and has been awarded a Fellow Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Debbie is responsible her own portfolio of clients, providing accountancy services, VAT and Management Accounts across a wide variety of sectors. She also works closely with the director to assist her with their portfolio of clients.

Rebekah Davies

Vat & Bookkeeper

Becky joined Blue Lias in 2013 as Payroll Advisor and Administration Assistant.  She now works as part of the VAT team

Becky’s duties also include book-keeping and preparations of VAT returns ensuring that clients VAT is accurate and on time allowing clients to focus on other business matters.  Becky has vat experience Payroll and a variety of customer relation roles.

Rebecca Gould

Receptionist and Client Coordinator

Rebecca joined Blue Lias in May 2021. Rebecca provides administrative support across the office.

Her responsibilities range from welcoming clients who call into the office, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, answering the phones, company secretarial and HMRC tasks, to contacting clients, keeping our systems up-to-date and the office tidy.
